Chasing the Sun

In November 2019 the Springboks were crowned Rugby World Cup Champions. A year on, the documentary, Chasing the Sun, premiered in South Africa on SuperSport, telling the story of this historic victory in the words of the players and coaches themselves.

During the course of the filming, due to the pandemic, the production team were unable to travel to the UK as planned to interview players Faf de Klerk and Francois Louw, coaching staff Aled Walters and Felix Jones, and YouTuber Squidge Rudgy. They contacted us and we worked with them to shoot the interviews ourselves on their behalf.

It was an absolute honour to be a part of this remarkable and emotional documentary. Although all five episodes are currently only available on SuperSport, there is a wealth of videos to watch on the Chasing the Sun digital content hub, and SuperSport Rugby’s Facebook platform, including our exclusive clip with scrumhalf Faf de Klerk, in which he shares special memories from his childhood and talks in depth about the Springboks’ kicking strategy.

It is very much hoped that the whole documentary will be available in the UK later in the year. Watch this space:
