Cunard | Queen Anne Keel Laying

Last month we travelled to the Fincantieri Marghera Shipyard in Venice, where Queen Anne, Cunard’s newest ship, is currently being built.

We shot the historic Keel laying ceremony which marked the formal start of construction in the build of the brand’s 249th ship. The ceremony is steeped in tradition and brings luck to the ship during construction, and to her Captain and crew whilst she is in service.

Queen Anne’s Captain, Inger Klein Thorhauge, welded the coins into the hull herself under the watchful eye of Sture Myrmell, President of Carnival UK. We captured all the action and produced a series of edits, which are now live across Cunard’s website, YouTube channel and social media platforms:
