John Lewis | The Story of… a sustainable Christmas
We were recently commissioned by John Lewis & Partners to produce a short series of Christmas Stories content for use online and across social media. Focusing on the brand’s sustainability promises we met the people behind three key Christmas products.
The story of our best baubles, travels to Poland to visit the factory where hand-blown and hand-painted heirlooms that will be treasured for years are crafted, and tells customers which ornaments will, in line with this year’s Christmas campaign, be raising money for the Building Happier Futures programme to help young people in care.
The story of artifical Christmas trees that are turning into real ones, introduces the Christmas Tree Initiative that will see 10,000 trees planted at The Waitrose Leckford Estate farm, turning forever trees into an amazing biodiversity project.
The story of our hand-painted Christmas wrapping paper, follows the life of this year’s rolls meeting the talented team of designers who hand-painted the designs, a level of craftsmanship which means that all of the brand’s wrapping paper this year is 100% recyclable, FSC certified and made from forests that are sustainably run and managed.
The series is now live on YouTube, with short edits ready to be used across social media during the festive period:
