P&O Cruises | Arvia sets sail for the Caribbean

Yesterday evening marked a momentous moment for British cruise brand P&O Cruises, as their newest ship Arvia set sail for her first season in the Caribbean.

Arvia, and her sister ship Iona, are P&O Cruises’ first ships powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG), resulting in a 20% reduction in carbon output plus zero sulphur and mitrogen emissions, as the brand makes steps towards a more sustainable future.

With her retractable SkyDome, swim-up bar and infinity pools, everything about Arvia’s design has been with the sunshine of the region in mind.

We were commissioned by the brand to record her departure from Southampton in style, and had editors onsite to produce super quick edits for use immediately across all social media platforms.

Sadly, one element of the send off did not go as planned. The drone show developed by Celestial Drones for the occasion, sat primed and ready on the quay, had to be postponed due to gales on the South Coast.

Featuring 320 drones the spectacular Carribean-themed show is a celebration of summer holiday imagery. We had captured the full show in December at Celestial’s test facility, and were able to produce edits from this footage which enabled P&O Cruises to still mark the special occasion with all their customers:
