P&O Cruises Facebook Live | A short cruise to Bruges with Eric Lanlard
Last week, we went live on Facebook with P&O Cruises. The twenty-minute broadcast was presented by master pâtissier Eric Lanlard from the top deck of Azura, as the ship sailed out of Southampton for a short weekend cruise to Bruges. Eric, is well known within the P&O Cruises brand, as he is one of their five strong team of Food Heroes, along with Marco Pierre White, James Martin and Olly Smith.
As well as the live broadcast, we had a team on board shooting and editing a wraparound series of videos with Eric for use across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. The first of these, used as a trailer to encourage viewers to join later that evening on Facebook Live, saw Eric arriving at the Mayflower Terminal in Southampton, boarding Azura with two of his friends and settling into his cabin:
The live broadcast began as Azura set sail from Southampton to Bruges on a gloriously sunny Friday evening. Eric answered questions sent to him by viewers about his role with P&O Cruises, his Market Cafe on their largest ship Britannia, his afternoon tea and The Cookery Club, as well as talking more generally about cruising itself and his dream of one day experiencing an around the world cruise. At the end of the broadcast he teased viewers with the promise that there would be more to see from his trip over the weekend across all social platforms.
