The Back Up Trust

Earlier this year we had the great pleasure of becoming involved with spinal cord injury charity The Back Up Trust.

We have known Eric Lanlard, one of the trust’s patrons, for several years in his capacity as a P&O Cruises’ Food Hero. Eric approached us about becoming involved in Back Up’s City Dinner flagship fundraiser, and we were more than happy to oblige.

The yearly event raises funds for vital services which enable the charity to support people affected by spinal cord injury. Ahead of the evening we produced a film to introduce the beneficiary speaker, and on the night itself were there to capture all the action.

This year’s beneficary speaker was Dom, a former marine, who sustained a high level spinal cord injury in a training accident in Norway which left him with no sensation in his hands or legs. Back Up’s support has helped Dom to rebuild his confidence and independence.

The evening was a huge success, raising a record-breaking £165,00. You can hear Dom’s story in his own words, and watch our highlights film of the night, below:
