Too Good To Waste | Potatoes
We were recently commissioned to develop a new series for Waitrose & Partners with a key focus on sustainability and the reduction of food waste, principles which sit at the heart of the brand.
Too Good To Waste is fronted by food waste champions, who talk viewers through the best ways to shop and cook more sustainably by making use of every little bit of the ingredients they buy. Not only does this mean great-tasting, quality food with less waste, the bonus is it saves money in the process too.
The series highlights some of the most wasted food items in the UK and gives tips, tricks and recipe ideas to use them up rather than throwing them in the bin.
The aim is for the content to bring these important issues to life with humour and warmth. Each episode will be delivered as long-form video for YouTube, as well as social edits and short-form videos which work as standalone content.
Episode 1 features zero waste New York chef, environmentalist and author Max La Manna. In 4 years, Max has captivated over 1 million followers across his social media platforms, while his recipe content and food shows have been viewed by over 1 billion people around the world.
The first commonly wasted food Max chose to feature is potatoes – he shares his recipes for Vegan Rösti and Crispy Smashed Potatoes, as well as loads of food hacks to help use up this kitchen staple.
All the content from this episode is now available on Waitrose & Partners’ YouTube channel, and across all the brand’s social media platforms:
