Welcome to the fleet, Iona

After seven months of uncertainty for the cruise industry, last week was a welcome and proud moment in P&O Cruises’ history as the Meyer Werft shipyard officially handed over their spectacular new ship, Iona.

Iona’s maiden season was due to begin in May, with voyages around Norway. Sadly, this was all changed due to the enforced extensions in the brand’s pause in operations as a result of the continued impact of COVID-19.

As the first British cruise ship to be powered by liquefied natural gas, Iona will set new ground as P&O Cruises’ greenest, largest and most innovative ship yet.

We were able to capture all the action remotely for the brand and produced this video to updated customers. The video is now live on P&O Cruises’ own website, and across all social channels, as well as being emailed out to customers. You can watch it here:
